#5 at the U
Surgery #5 at the U completed, and the best so far I believe! Yayyyyyy! I will start out by saying this was the longest I’ve had my voice in between surgeries. Even though it was a struggle to talk, I was still able to, unlike other times. I had an awesome team in surgery. Most I have had at .east one other time and they remember me. They tell me I should know my MR number by now lol. So, off to sleep I went. And, this time when I woke up NO NAUSEA! Finally! I felt absolutely great besides the pain in my throat which was expected and taken care of! Dr. Gray came into PACU and told me surgery went great! She was able to open a larger area and she said it was so weird. It wasn’t a hard skin it was a soft mushy area. So soft she was able to just suction that part out! Tonight my nurse looked in my chart and it said she opened me 15mm, or 1.5cm which is the LARGEST area she has ever opened! So exciting! My time in PACU went great, I felt awesome. I had to wait a little extra time there for a bed to open up on the floor. I had several staff pop over and say hi to me and say it was nice to see me again lol.
I then went up to 6A. I have a roommate the sweetest old lady that tells me she loves my smile and apologizes constantly for talking too much lol. I have my favorite nurse Hannah again! Actually all of them here are so nice! I was reminding Hannah that my family has a 2 hr drive to pick me up tomorrow so for her to pass it on to the day shift, she said Ann everyone out there knows you silly girl lol.
Another piece of good news is Dr. Gray said that maybe if this recovery went well the next one maybe I could go home the same day! So I will be seeing her in her office again in two weeks I believe for a scope to see where we are at. I’ve included some pictures for your viewing pleasure! Oh and.....I was down 18 lbs which she was so incredibly happy with AND super happy about my 5Ks
and wants me to keep them up! So keep on showing me that support guys you have no idea how much your words mean!!!!❤️ Walk#1 today was 10 laps around the unit and to the elevators and so was walk #2 a while later. That is 20 laps today....so far, hoping to get one more set of 10 in ⭐️❤️.
Hugs, Ann Marie
