Results!

Dr. Lim is my pulmonologist at Rochester.  I am going to try and explain this the best I can, but it will not be NEAR as good as he did, he did an excellent job and it all made so much sense.  So, not seeing me the very first time on August 11, just by reading the reports pneumonia started all of this, a VERY bad pneumonia.  I had been sick for a couple weeks prior, but thought it was all just allergies.  Fast forward.  If you look at the picture I have attached the dark black circle is my trachea, if you look straight down you will see a whitish ring.  This is where the opening is supposed to be.  All the rest of that area is scar tissue FROM THE INTIBATION.  He said I am just one of the few VERY UNLUCKY people., he honestly said that about 10 times...how unlucky I am lol.

  All of my auto immune tests came back negative.  He doesn't want to do the surgery that could be done because he thinks it may do more harm than good.  He wants to see me back in 3 months and will decide then if he would like me to see another specialist to see if I would be a good candidate for laser surgery.  So because of the tracheal stenosis there is like a "shelf" there that when I go to cough stuff up, mucus can't get through.  This is why it is VERY important that I don't get sick because it could very easily and fast sit down in my lungs and turn into a pneumonia.  And, for this reason I have to do this special breathing treatment and routine twice a day.  So since all that is scar tissue, unless they go in and remove it with a laser I will continue to have that and continue to be very susceptible to getting sick    :(  But, at least we have answers and we know we know what to do.  If I start to get sick I have to start more breathing treatments right away!  Thank you all so much for all your thoughts and prayers!  It is truly appreciated and I'm honestly so thankful to have the friends and family I do have!!
