Yayyyyy!!!!
It has been a few days since I updated, but I was waiting until THINGS actually happened! Monday I did the "lift" test at the hospital to see if I was able to return to work. I had to lift 50 lbs, put it on the floor, lift it back up and walk a short distance with it. Guess what!!! I passed!!! I am able to return to work. So, I got a text this evening from another Angel (Michele) asking if I wanted to work tomorrow night 11pm-7am! Of course, I responded YES!! I have been waiting 2 months and 1 day for this! I am going back 1 to 3 months earlier than what was originally expected with my condition! I do have some restrictions at first, I can only lift 20lbs and my doctor doesn't want me to do the 12 hour shifts for at least one week to see how I do. If after that week I am feeling good and feel like I can do the 12 hour shifts, I probably can!
On Monday I also met with a dietician since with Tracheamalacia, weight control is a huge deal. That went really good! I received handouts of portions I should be eating and I also got some papers to start a food diary of everything I eat. This will help me be accountable. So this is my 2nd day keeping track of what I eat and I'm actually being very diligent with it! So, please remember to comment on here with healthy recipes! No one has yet! For breakfast I usually have the same thing, which I love to eat. Scrambled eggs with bacon, mushrooms, and sweet pepper. Tonight for supper I had 1 serving of shrimp with some lemon pepper seasoning on it, and some roasted veggies (broccoli, cauliflower and peapods). It was sooo good and simple. Bud is out duck hunting so I made the boys mac and cheese because, well they aren't shrimp fans and I choose to pick my own battles. I have been drinking WAY more water than I did before I was hospitalized and frankly ever in my life, but I still need to drink more to reach my goal. But.....I haven't given up on goals yet. I can honestly say now I am a fighter. My body didn't give up on me 2 months ago (although it tried) it didn't, and so I refuse to give up on my body! I could honestly cry I am so happy right now! Please pray for me that everything goes well tomorrow night!!! :) Love to all!!!
